Our history

Thames Valley Controls Ltd started life as Thames Valley Lift Company. Originally based in Staines, London it was established in 1971 to meet the requirements of the growing independent lift market in the UK. Rapid growth led to the business relocating in 1978 to Flint, North Wales. In 1994 it was acquired by Dewhurst Plc, the independent global supplier of quality components to the lift, transport and keypad industries. Thames Valley Controls Ltd has continued to supply best-in-class lift control and monitoring solutions to businesses all over the UK.

In September 2019 we became part of the Vantage Elevator Solutions group along with GAL Manufacturing, Hollister-Whitney, GAL Canada, Courion, Bore-Max and Elevator Controls.

A gold standard reputation

We’re a well-established company with a vast amount of industry experience. We’ve earned a reputation for quality: quality of the product itself of course, but also for the research and development we carry out and for the customer service and support you’ll receive. Through research and development investment we continually strive to ensure you benefit from truly innovative products and solutions that surpass your expectations and that are as straightforward as possible to install, use and maintain. We’re also known for our reliability and exceptional levels of support: we always make sure we’re readily accessible to a customer whenever they need us even if it’s well after an installation is complete. A big part of our ethos is that ‘we never walk away’. Safety is at the forefront of everything we do. We are committed to investing in our employees to ensure they are continually learning and developing their skills in line with new technologies and new standards within our industry. We are very proud of our low staff turnover; some of our employees have been with the business since the early days of its formation. We are accredited to Investors in People, CHAS, Construction Line, Exor and RISQS and you can be assured you are dealing with a company committed to continually reaching the highest standards in everything we do.
